Holidays in Abruzzo
2015 was a very busy year, full of changes and new adventures, and in July, with the suffocating heat of Italian summer, I couldn't help but take Viola and bring her to the sea for the first time.
For our holidays we chose Abruzzo, where I had never been before. And I literally fell in love with it!
If you like the sea, you love the sun and the beaches and you like to eat then Abruzzo is the right one for you!
Abruzzo boasts the title of "Green Region of Europe", thanks to the presence of its 3 national parks ( Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise , Parco Nazionale della Majella and Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga ), the Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente-Velino , the Area Marina Protetta Torre del Cerrano and the thirty-eight protected areas that represent 36.3% of its total area, the highest in Europe. Among the beaches that I recommend visiting, Ripari di Giobbeand the Rocco Mancini beachin San Vito are certainly among my favourites.
For Viola, it was her first time at the sea and seeing her face astonished when she saw the sea was something fantastic. Teach her to swim even more!
Another thing that literally left me speechless was the sunrise. I had never seen the sun come out of the sea and it was a very emotional experience both for me and for Viola.
In short, for me, it was a little paradise and I can't wait to go back to discover other wonderful places of this enchanting land warmed by the sun to the rhythm of the sea waves.
But now enough with the words and let's give space to the images of our holidays in Abruzzo.
Enjoy.
And if you have a sweet tooth, you absolutely cannot miss the fried bombs filled with custard

and of course the Abruzzo's typical dish, the arrosticini!
